My Teaching Style
Yoga is a celebration of the self. Treat your body with love and breathe deeply. My classes combine athletic sequencing with inner focus and breath-work as a means to quiet the mind and center in the present moment. This awareness allows students to find their individual freedom in a flow of dynamic movement and compassionate self-acceptance.
I took my first yoga class in college at Rutgers University. Majoring in Dance, my teachers encouraged me to incorporate yoga as a way to build strength and balance. I immediately loved how yoga created my place for inner connection and acceptance. After graduation I launched into a career of corporate sales and over time began to feel disconnected physically, emotionally and spiritually. Questioning my path in life, I quit my job and I began teacher training at Kripalu. The philosophy of the practice transformed my understanding of myself and how I flow through life. Swami Kripalu’s teaching of self-observation without judgment continues to be my anchor to mindful living. I would love to teach from this space of compassionate awareness and skillful living.
